Perfect Eye Makeup Guide
Eyeshadow, Eyeliner & Mascara — Step by Step
1. Prep the Eyes
-
Start with clean, moisturized skin.
-
Apply a light eye primer so colors stay smooth and last longer.
-
If lids are oily, set lightly with translucent powder.
2. Eyeshadow – Soft, Natural Look
Choose 3 shades:
-
Light shade: base (cream, nude, champagne).
-
Medium shade: crease (soft brown, taupe).
-
Dark shade: outer corner (dark brown, bronze).
How to apply:
-
Sweep the light shade all over the lid.
-
Blend the medium shade into the crease using soft back-and-forth motions.
-
Tap the dark shade on the outer corner to deepen the look.
-
Add a small touch of shimmer in the center of the lid for brightness (optional).
-
Highlight the inner corner and under the brow with a soft light color.
3. Eyeliner – Pencil, Gel, or Liquid
Pencil Eyeliner (easy & natural):
-
Start at the outer corner and move inward with small strokes.
-
Keep the line close to the lashes.
-
Smudge gently for a soft, smoky finish.
Liquid or Gel Eyeliner (sharp & defined):
-
Look straight in the mirror and rest your elbow on a table.
-
Draw small dashes along the lash line and connect them.
-
For a wing: follow the lower lash line upward, draw a tiny flick, then connect to the main line.
Waterline Tips:
-
Nude pencil on the lower waterline makes eyes look bigger.
-
Black pencil on the upper waterline makes lashes look fuller.
4. Mascara – The Right Way
-
Curl your lashes first to open the eyes.
-
Start at the base of the lashes and wiggle the wand upward.
-
Apply 1–2 coats depending on how bold you want the look.
-
Use the tip of the wand for lower lashes.
-
Brush through with a clean spoolie if lashes clump.
Mascara types:
-
Lengthening for short lashes.
-
Volumizing for thin lashes.
-
Curling for straight lashes.
-
Waterproof for long wear or humid days.
